In the process of redesigning the Department of Ophthalmology, the chairman of the department, Kirk Packo MD, established a theme for the space that focused on cinematography and optics. To complement his extensive collection of movie posters of films incorporating "eye" references, (i.e, The Eyes of Laura Mars), he commissioned Ehlenberger to develop a series of luminous sculptures and sconces that would reiterate his established theme.

Taking on the motif of film reels, including the incorporation of an antique film reel and numerous lenses, Ehlenberger designed three large sculptures for the space. The dominate sculpture, "Packo I," is a large wall sculpture designed to suggest the classic art deco architectural element, the cinema marquis. While doing so, it also focuses on an antique film reel and includes visual references to film strips.

Continuing these
references, the other two sculptures (below) mimic large film reels and incorporate a variety of antique lenses backlit with neon, including an antique glass fresnel.

As a further accent to the office space, multiple Concentric sconces were also included. While not designed specifically for this project, the minimalist Concentrics played a perfect supporting role by providing ambient lighting with eye-like designs.
